14 DAY TRIAL // Facebook Inc. has rolled out an update to its Messenger application for iPhone and iPod touch users making it even easier to reach groups of friends on the go.
Facebook Messenger version 1.7 lets you text friends for free, using your existing data plan, as well as to reach them wherever they are – on their phone or the web, in front of their computer. Users now know who’s seen their message, and who hasn’t, and they can see where friends are messaging them from.
Listed in the “also” section is the crucial ability to see when your friend is replying via a new “typing indicator”, and several unnamed bug fixes.
Facebook Messenger is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later. An iPad-native client is reportedly being readied for launch this summer.
