Michael and Lorna Herf have released a new version of their awesome F.lux application which dims / lights up your Mac’s screen in accordance with the time of the day (including color).

F.lux is a free tool which makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day: warm at night and bright, sunlight-like during the day.

It’s even able to find your location and set the lighting for you, with options to apply the changes more or less gradual.

In this release (23.0) the application is able to find your location again properly, and users who are running F.lux on a Leopard Mac are advised to stay put (as in, don’t update) because this new version breaks compatibility.

“Please don't upgrade if you are running Leopard (10.5) or earlier,” according to Michael and Lorna Herf.
