Apple dives into the games market again for this week's free app. Epoch 2 is a great game perfectly built for touch screens. You are playing as the last robot guardian in a post apocalyptic world and almost nothing can stop you.

Epoch 2 is now free and will stay like that for a week. You can however spend some money for in-app purchases. Double credits will make your wallet $1.99 (€1.49) lighter and you can go full throttle and spend $29.99 (€22.41) for a container of credits. This is the sequel to the widely popular Epoch game. The player will be set in a ruined world to fight robots and save humanity. The game came out almost an year ago, but it is still very much appreciated among iOS users.

The users can control the robot guardian with intuitive finger swipes, make decisions on how to avoid the enemies and dodge incoming fire and utilize its special abilities to launch an even stronger attack.

The post apocalyptic world looks great on an iPhone 5s retina screen. The main character can explore drained harbors, abandoned spaceports and check out the plants that continue to manufacture the robots involved in this war.

The final mission will ask you to save a princess and gather fragments of the past. This game works on iPhone 4S or newer, iPad 2 and newer and the fifth generation iPod touch.
