Dropbox 2.7.54 is out with an important fix for Windows customers, as well as several other tweaks and enhancements for all supported platforms in the 2.7 branch.

According to the Dropbox team, version 2.7.54 fixes an “access denied” error when installing the cloud app on Windows computers.

Listing what’s new in the 2.7 series, Dropboxer Jiten V. reveals on the company’s forums that the client now includes a prompt for selective sync in the setup wizard for large Dropboxes, auto sign-in installers for Windows and Mac OS X, a notification when your hard disk is full, and new icons in the tray popup.

Jiten spends a little time explaining the prompt for selective sync in the setup wizard, saying, “if your Dropbox is more than 10GB or syncing your Dropbox would fill up most of your remaining hard disk space, we will prompt you to use selective sync to skip syncing some of your folders. Note that this prompt is skipped if you have previously linked this account, as we assume you'll have your selective sync settings from before.”

As usual, the download links are available below. The system requirements remain unchanged, so you can go ahead and grab the new builds on your existing configuration.
