14 DAY TRIAL // Dropbox Inc. is out today with the latest stable/final release of Dropbox 2.6.8, an important update for all existing users on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux computers alike.
Dropbox 2.6.8 standardizes the Dropbox folder name for DfB users and makes sure that one Dropbox folder cannot go inside another Dropbox folder, to avoid confusion and maybe even accidental data deletion.
The update also prevent two Dropbox folders from having the same name, further solidifying the integrity of the service. Finally, the client will not be able to merge a Dropbox folder with a symlink now. Other small fixes are also included, per the release notes.
The system requirements remain in place for everyone, so go ahead and download the updates at will.
