Cloud company Dropbox has released an updated version of its cross-platform file syncing app with the same name, adding more translations to the mix, along with a number of assorted bug fixes and other tweaks. The release is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux users alike.

Users who download Dropbox 2.6.18 today will be able to fix an error on restarting the client with dual accounts. The new version restarts Explorer (on Windows) “more gently on install,” and includes more information in the startup error dialog.

The updated client no longer modifies ctime on files when fixing permissions, and includes other small fixes. More translations have been added, but the Dropbox development team doesn’t actually mention any specific languages.

The release notes are identical for all three versions of the client (Mac, Windows, Linux), meaning that there are no platform-specific fixes, other than the Explorer thing I mentioned above.

The requirements haven’t changed either, and newcomers will continue to receive a measly 2GB of free space when competing cloud clients offer up to five times that amount. Some services, like Kim Dotcom’s MEGA, offer a whopping 50GB of free storage.
