No release notes available at the time of writing, update likely fixes bugs

Dropbox Inc. has released a new stable version of its cloud app for Mac, Windows, and Linux, but the binaries are available lacking release notes.

It looks like software sellers are going on a strike or something. First Adobe, and now Dropbox fails to deliver a proper set of release notes with the latest stable updates of their flagship applications.

Jokes aside, Dropbox 2.6.12 likely includes important code corrections (perhaps even some security fixes too), which means you’d be advised to download and install the software with or without any changelog present.

The requirements haven’t changed, and you can still get a free 2GB account when you install it for the first time. Frankly, I think Dropbox is lagging way behind in terms of free storage offerings, but I can’t say I’d rather use another service. Plus, you should never look a gift horse in the mouth.
