14 DAY TRIAL // Google’s YouTube app for iOS just got a new update that introduces suggestion overlays, a new feature that can be quite annoying.
Thus, every time you watch a video, the app offers a recommendation about what to watch next over the video that you’re currently trying to enjoy.
The bar only covers an area of the screen and can be dismissed by tapping the “X” that appears on the side. But such popups are annoying no matter what kind of videos they suggest.
However, this update also fixes several stability issues and includes a fix for application crashes. Closed captions for live streams can now be watched through the iOS app.
The app requires iOS 5.0 or later and it is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad.
