If you’re worried your messages are being sent unencrypted when traveling over Wi-Fi or cellular networks, WhatsApp Inc. has some good news for you. Version 2.8.3 of their immensely-popular messaging application now boasts encryption, among other neat things.

In an update to their cross-platform messaging app, WhatsApp Inc. says “your messages are now fully encrypted when traveling over Wi-Fi or mobile network.”

The updated WhatsApp on iPhone and iPad now shows push names in group chats for unknown numbers, and boasts a better message forwarding picker (show groups, recents, and contacts).

The spinning indicator has been changed to a gray clock to match other platforms, and the app can now auto-download images. Finally, WhatsApp 2.8.3 comes with updated Korean, Chinese and many other translations.
