An update for all supported platforms is available from Hamrick Software, maker of VueScan, the powerful scanning utility with built-in drivers for scanners otherwise not supported by the user’s computer.

Essentially putting a huge library of scanning drivers on your Mac, Windows PC, or Linux computer, VueScan supports thousands of devices from various different vendors.

These drivers include support for even age-old scanners that Apple or Microsoft have long forgotten.

According to the release notes for VueScan 9.4.08, Hamrick Software fixed a problem with “occasional crashes.” These crashes apparently occurred on all supported platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux) as all three builds include the same fixes.

As usual, Softpedia readers can use the links supplied at the bottom of the article to grab the VueScan build compatible with their system.
