Viscosity, the powerful OpenVPN client that provides an interface for editing, creating, and controlling VPN connections, has been updated on Mac and Windows platforms.

Version 1.4.5 optimizes memory usage (while connected), adds support for static challenge/response requests, presents PKCS#11 certificate names in a clearer format, and detects invalid PKCS#11 PINs and locked devices.

The option to disconnect on idle will now be correctly saved, and the app’s Spanish translation has been updated thanks to the work of a certain Claudio Brandy, which Spark Labs credits in the release notes. The update further includes various bug fixes and enhancements.

Viscosity sells for $9.00/€6.66 but you don’t have to pluck the money just yet. In case you want to test out its features before you make the buy, simply download the free (trial) version from the link below.
