The Vienna Team has updated the popular RSS reader, Vienna, with an array of fixes and enhancements, the most important of which targeting OS X Lion machines.

An open source RSS reader with support for RSS/Atom feeds, article storage and management via a SQLite database, Vienna is written in Objective-C and Cocoa.

It’s not downloadable through the Mac App Store, but it is available through software download sites like our own.

According to the release notes for Vienna 2.6.0.2601, the app now features a plugin for effortless sharing with Buffer and an updated Growl.Framework (1.2.2). The app now marks articles opened in the browser as read, and allows opening multiple articles in the browser by adding a delay in.

Most importantly for OS X Lion users, Vienna 2.6 fixes an issue where styles fail to render under Mac OS X 10.7. The new version also fixes the Share With Twitter plugin.
