Twitter Inc. has unleashed a massive update in the iOS App Store, enhancing the mobile Twitter experience tenfold with new conversation improvements, synchronization abilities, better search results, and more.

In Twitter 5.8, when you read a Direct message it will now be marked as read across all your Twitter clients and web interfaces, including twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, Twitter for Mac, TweetDeck, and Twitter for Android.

A read message on any official Twitter app will be marked as read on iPhone and iPad as well.

A new reply composer in the Tweet details view on iPhone makes it easier to join conversations, and you can easily find new accounts to follow by tapping the new people button included in the navigation bar.

Search results are now richer. For example, they now indicate when there are new Tweets for your query. Account results will now be shown with bios and social context, and you’ll be able to report unwanted Tweets via the “More” button.
