Native Instruments is out with a new release of Traktor DJ, the company’s high-impact DJ-ing tool for iPhone and iPad, featuring new in-app Mixcloud integration, three new effects, better track management, and other improvements.

In build 1.4.0, available for both the iPhone and the iPad version of the app, users can now record and upload a mix to their Mixcloud page directly from TRAKTOR DJ, use three new effects in their mixes (Iceverb, Transpose Stretch, and Reverse Grain), and take advantage of better track management with improvements made to the playlist and subfolder.

Some stability and usability improvements have been included as well. Users are instructed to unlock the new effects using a notification pop-up on first startup after updating the app. According to the developers, people who are downloading the software for the first time will only be able to unlock the new effects after three app startups.

Traktor DJ 1.4.0 still only requires iOS 6.0 and works with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad second generation, iPad third generation, iPad fourth generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, iPod touch fourth generation, and iPod touch fifth generation. The “recommended” devices are iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and iPod touch 5G, meaning older hardware might not run the app properly.
