TotalFinder, the Finder supercharger priced at $18.00 (€13.17) and available as a free download with a 14-day limit, has received a new update which addresses some of the most widely-reported complaints.

First off, TotalFinder 1.5.6 adds a tweak to completely disable tabs. Apparently, many users needed this, so developer Binary Age wasted no time in delivering this tweak, which you can access in TotalFinder Preferences -> Tabs.

The app has been confirmed as compatible with OS X 10.9.1 betas, but this doesn’t mean it’ll run perfectly smooth with the final version of the software. More testing might be required, but basic support is there.

Another fix in Mavericks, “‘Open in new tab’ context-menu item opens TotalFinder's tab under Mavericks,” according to the release notes. A Lion-specific fix is also mentioned: “fixed crashing uninstaller.”
