TextNow assigns every user their own dedicated phone number to call and text friends for free, as long as the conversations stay on the TextNow network. You can send as many messages as you want – there are no monthly fees to pay.
Version 4.4.22 brings more opportunities to earn credits with video, fixes an issue where calling crashes the app if the address book is disabled in Privacy settings, and addresses some other minor bugs as well.
TextNow + Voice - Free Texting and Calling is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. The app requires iOS 3.0 or later.
