Random House Digital, Inc. has released Stephen Hawking's Snapshots of the Universe, a $4.99 / €4.49 iPad app which explains the principles that control our universe through simple and fun experiments for kids.

Featuring interactive parts and text sections that help users understand key theories about space and time, each experiment includes video segments with insightful explanations as to why planets stay in orbit around stars, black holes may not actually be black, stars are not always where we see them, time is not the same for everyone, etc.

“Optimized and styled for iOS 7 with clean and streamlined graphic elements, the app also supports Dynamic Type so you can resize the text of the ‘Why?’ screens,” says Random House Digital, Inc.

Users can play games such as spinning planets in orbit with your own solar system, dropping objects to learn about gravity, and a funny experiment where you can take Einstein to outer space to feel some G-forces.

You can download Stephen Hawking's Snapshots of the Universe on any iPad running iOS 6 or later.
