Sony’s Music Unlimited app, which lets you stream music to your iPhone and iPod with a premium subscription, has received a maintenance update that brings not only tweaks and fixes, but also a couple of new additions, including a nifty feature called “My Channels.”

Premium subscribers to Sony’s music streaming service can download Music Unlimited for free from the iTunes App Store and enjoy millions of songs and ad-free channels across all their iDevices.

Supported on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad (but not natively on the tablet device), Music Unlimited 1.2 is now out with an all-new My Channels feature that lets you create channels inspired by your favorite artists.

Some playlist management is now possible thanks to this update, which allows users to create and edit playlists directly on their mobile device. The changelog ends with a rather ambiguous note stating “some features have been improved.” We’ll leave this one to avid users to figure out.
