Feral Interactive has taken it upon itself to release Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing 1.0, a new racing game for OS X gamers, now available for $24.99 / €21,99 in the Mac App Store.

The cartoon-ish racer allows you to choose from two dozen celebrated SEGA characters and compete for the finish in some pretty colorful game worlds.

“Race through the Sonic games’ sunny South Island, House of the Dead’s spooky Curien Mansion and Super Monkey Ball’s super lush rainforests,” according to the description.

Don’t be fooled by the innocent appearance of the game. You’ll need quite a decently-specced Mac to run Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, including a 1.8 GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, 256MB of video RAM, and 4GB of free space.

Some graphics cards are not supported, including the ATI X1xxx series, ATI HD2xxx series, NVIDIA 7xxx series and the Intel GMA series.
