A new version of Skype for Mac is available with optimizations to video messaging, easier upgrading for users with non-admin accounts, and an improved instant messaging experience.

Microsoft is happy to inform users that they’ve managed to release yet another update which includes some of the most requested features and tweaks, such as optimizations for video messaging.

“To ensure a consistent Skype experience no matter which device you use, we have added entry points for video messaging to the share menu (plus button),” reads the latest entry on the Skype Garage blog.

If the call goes unanswered for ten seconds, users will now be prompted to send a video message.

Finally, those who don’t have an admin account on OS X will now be able to sit back and enjoy their Skype experience, as all future updates will be silently downloaded for them.
