Microsoft has released Skype 4.15.1 for iPad and iPhone, an update that hopes to resolve various issues reported by customers, including crashes and battery drainage.

Numerous Skype users are complaining about dropped calls, severe batter drain, crashes, and other issues with the video chatting app. While such problems are a common occurrence with communications apps, a recent bug-fix release hopes to alleviate some of these woes, if not all.

Microsoft today released update 4.15.1 with “general fixes and speed improvements,” and users who are experiencing issues with the iPhone or iPad version are encouraged to download Skype 4.15.1 and see how it fares for them.

Skype continues to support old versions of Apple’s iOS (starting with 5.0), and works with iPhone 4 or newer, iPod touch 4th-generation or newer, and iPad 2 or newer.
