The all-new Safari from OS X Mavericks is now also available to Mac users running older versions of the operating system. Compatibility with Safari 6.1 starts at OS X 10.7.5 (Lion).

Safari 6.1 includes Shared Links, a new feature that lets you see links shared by people you follow, and a cool Sidebar which holds your Bookmarks, Reading List, and Shared Links in a unified interface.

The browser now offers one-click bookmarking and a Power Saver which increases energy efficiency by playing only the plug-in content you want to see.

Third-party data blocking keeps cookies and other tracking tools at a safe distance, and users in Russia will be glad to learn that Safari now has built-in Yandex search. A number of security holes is also addressed in this release.
