Apple has released Safari 5.1.10 for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard users, delivering a couple of security patches for vulnerabilities found in JavaScriptCore.

According to a technical note on Apple’s website, “Safari 5.1.10 for OS X Snow Leopard includes security fixes and is recommended for all Snow Leopard users.”

Those security fixes are for two flaws discovered in the browser’s JavaScriptCore by Joost Pol and Daan Keuper of Certified Secure working with HP TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative, as well as Vitaliy Toropov working with HP's Zero Day Initiative.

Affecting systems running Mac OS X v10.6.8 and Mac OS X Server v10.6.8, multiple memory corruption issues in JavaScriptCore could lead to “an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution,” if the user navigated to a “maliciously crafted website.”

Addressed through additional bounds checking, these issues are nowhere to be found in Safari 5.1.10, according to Apple.
