14 DAY TRIAL // In tandem with releasing updates for Final Cut Pro X, Compressor 4, and Motion 5, Apple this week rolled out ProApps QuickTime Codecs v1.0.2, an updated package containing video codecs for use by QuickTime-based applications.
The 1.0.2 update adds new video codecs for OS X applications that use the QuickTime extensible multimedia framework.
According to the official release notes, these codecs include: Apple Intermediate Codec, Apple ProRes, AVC-Intra, DVCPRO HD, HDV, XDCAM HD / EX / HD422, MPEG IMX, Uncompressed 4:2:2, and XAVC.
“This update is recommended for all users of Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, or Compressor 4,” Apple points out.
The system requirements are Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Leopard) or later, and QuickTime 7.6 or later. Supported languages include German, English, French, and Chinese.
