Avid has released a new version of its Pro Tools software for Mac users delivering some enhancements for Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion installations alike.

The Read Me document accompanying Pro Tools 10.3.4 discloses important compatibility information, as well as resolved and known issues for the standard version of the software, as well as the HD implementation.

Pro Tools 10.3.4 targets computers running Mac OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard), 10.7.x (Lion) and 10.8.x (Mountain Lion).

On Mountain Lion in particular, the update allows users to see current values during editing sessions of automation, clip gain, or when they fiddle with non-note MIDI data. Keep an eye out for a small box immediately upon the first mouse click, says Avid.

The Start Time field in the Edit and Transport windows now correctly accepts direct numerical entry, and audio files can be now be exported in MXF formats.

The updated suite will stop playback of an Edit window selection on the last sample of a selection. Also worth noting, automation breakpoints selected in the Edit dialog can now be nudged using key commands, according to the release notes.
