Pixel-level art editor for OS X gets maintenance update

Designed to work at pixel level, Pixen is a free image editing application enjoyed by thousands of Mac users worldwide. A new version is available with a couple of enhancements.

If you’re an existing user of the app, you can safely download Pixen 3.5.16 and experience improved color accuracy. Additionally, changes to colors in the frequency palette will now update on a continuous basis.

Pixen only works with relatively new releases of Apple’s desktop operating system, starting with OS X 10.7 (aka Lion), going through OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and OS X 10.9 (also known as Mavericks).

Pixen used to be free (open source even, if I’m not mistaken), but not anymore. You need to shell out 10 bucks American for this one (around €7.5 in the EU).
