Mojang has rolled out the latest version of Minecraft for Macs. The update is humongous, to say the least, touching almost every aspect of the game, from server tweaks and settings to the sound engine and gameplay.

Improved areas include the server list, the settings menu, the F3 mode, multiplayer, language, the creative and general inventories, commands (added a difficulty command), the sound engine, portals, Adventure mode, and others.

The update fixes a truckload of bugs, including some lighting glitches, an issue with held-items getting colored when wearing tinted blocks/armor, pvp-disabled servers still allowing players to set others on fire using Fire Aspect enchanted swords, and more.

World Generation also got touched, with the update making superflat worlds customizable – made up of layers specified with block id, data value and height.

With Halloween on the way, Carrots and potatoes can now be found growing in villages, as well as Beacons – intended as an end-game block.
