Includes the ability to upload photos or videos from your Apple handset

Microsoft has released SkyDrive for iPhone and iPad, a free application acting as the gateway to the files you store via the Windows maker’s cloud service.

“With SkyDrive for the iPhone, you can now easily access, manage and share files on the go. You can also upload photos or videos from your iPhone to SkyDrive,” says Microsoft.

The key features of the application include the ability to access all of your SkyDrive content on the move, view recently used documents, upload photos or videos from your phone, share stuff by URL or email, and manage content by creating and / or deleting files and folders.

Those who haven’t yet used SkyDrive by use Microsoft’s Hotmail, Messenger or Xbox LIVE, are good to go. Those don’t use any of the above services can sign up for a new account at SkyDrive.com and then start upload files.
