Microsoft has released a new Office for Mac update for users of the 2011 edition, adding a few bug fixes for Outlook, syncing, and SMB.

An issue existed in Office for Mac 2011 where Outlook would repeatedly try to send messages that exceeded certain server-side size limits from the Outbox.

In version 14.3.6, messages that exceed these size limits are put in the local Drafts folder should the sending attempt be unsuccessful.

Another fix deals with an issue where syncing a folder frequently caused Microsoft Outlook for Mac to freeze. This happened when many messages were deleted on another client. In the new version, this issue is addressed.

Finally, the update fixes a problem that caused Word to be unable to save files to an SMB share.
