According to Gihyun Jung, the developer of the app, the updated version comes with a new file browser and media player controls, as well as Playlist editor. You can selectively remove the controls for the music player when you want them out of the way.
Also new, Maven now supports unzipping and zipping files, which is a particularly handy feature for those who download archives. Speaking of grabbing stuff from the web, the download manager has also been enhanced in version 3.0.
