Google is offering a new development snapshot of its Chrome browser for testing on all desktop platforms, including Mac, Windows, and Linux. The update, Chrome Dev 36.0.1933.0, addresses a reported crash.

According to Matthew Yuan writing over at the Chrome Releases blog, “The Dev Channel has been updated to 36.0.1933.0 for Windows, Mac and Linux. This release fixes a large crash.” As usual, Google offers a full list of changes in the SVN log, which details every known bug and code tweak.

From the changelog, it isn’t immediately clear what this “big crash” is all about. Safe to say update 36.0.1933.0 attempts to patch it, so it’s pretty much a given that all testers will have to rely on this version from now on.

New Stable and Beta updates have been released in the past couple of days too. The beta build seeded yesterday arrived with a formal set of release notes that mentioned more developer control over touch input, new JavaScript features, unprefixed Shadow DOM, a handful of new apps/extension APIs, and “lots of under the hood changes for stability and performance.” As usual, all Chrome builds are available for download from the links supplied below.
