Chrome beta testers have a new build to download and install on their Mac, Windows, or Linux computers, featuring the usual bag of tweaks and fixes under the hood.

Daniel Xie makes the beta official on the Google Chrome Releases blog: “The Beta Channel has been updated to 34.0.1847.60 for Windows, Mac and Linux.”

Xie points out that “This release fixes a number of crashes and other bugs,” with the full list of changes being offered in the SVN log, as usual.

For example, the update apparently sorts the order of asynchronous procedures in VolumeManager initialization. I say “apparently” because the wording in the SVN revision document doesn’t make it clear if you’re reading about a known issue or a fixed bug. At least not for us regular folks.

The document explains that “When VolumeManager is initialized, it obtains the current volume list first and subscribes events for newly added volumes. The events should be subscribed right away, or it can cause crbug.com/330061.”

Google Chrome 34 is currently in Beta and will not be released as a Stable update for a while. For work-related purposes, use only the latest Stable (v33) builds).
