Google is out with a new Chrome update for iPhone and iPad users. Version 33.0.1750.14 contains “mainly bug fixes and stability improvements,” according to the Chrome Releases blog.

Jason Kersey of the Google Chrome development team makes the announcement official:

“The Chrome team is excited to announce Chrome 33 for iPhone and iPad. Chrome 33.0.1750.14 contains mainly bug fixes and stability improvements. The update will be rolling out in the App Store over the next few hours,” he writes.

Customers visiting the iTunes App Store will be greeted by Google Chrome 33.0.1750.14 and a terse changelog that mentions a little something extra (emphasis ours): “stability and security updates.”

That’s right, Chrome 33.0.1750.14 is a security update for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad customers. It goes without saying that it’s best to install it sooner rather than later.

Google doesn’t say if the security issue it patched was critical, but we’re assuming it was only a minor vulnerability, as the search giant doesn’t offer details on the matter.
