Firefox 10.0.2 includes a bunch of Mac-only fixes for customers using Mozilla’s popular web browser. The update hit the web yesterday evening, but some customers are only now seeing the update notification pop up.

A bug that plagued beta versions of Firefox 10 for a while now appears to be completely resolved. It concerns crashes when closing a tab with a Java applet installed, after installing the latest Java release from Apple.

A bug affecting Silverlight video playback on some Macintosh hardware (that Mozilla obviously fails to specify) is also addressed in 10.0.2, according to the changelog. This and other cross-platform fixes are listed in the release notes over at mozilla.org.

One issue that’s still pending a fix is Firefox’s inability to cope with notifications stemming from Growl 1.3 or later. As usual, Mozilla can’t promise that this will be fixed in the next update for Mac users.
