Facebook Inc. has finally rolled out the “verified accounts” feature to iOS customers, enabling those who use the iPhone/iPad client app to instantly differentiate a fake account from a real one.

Facebook version 6.3 for iPhone and iPad lets you “find verified celebrities, public figures and brands by looking for a blue check mark next to their names.”

The feature was pioneered by Twitter as a necessity because of all the fake Justin Bieber / Selena Gomez / David Beckham / Brad Pitt accounts.

The new Facebook also improves Places editing. The social networking giant has been able to address categories, phone numbers and other issues with users information on iPads.

Finally, a fix for a problem that was causing News Feed to load slowly for some people is also included.
