Facebook Inc. is out with a new version of its iOS client application adding status icons to allow you to show people that you’re happy or feeling down, as well as to disclose your current activity (what you’re watching, reading, etc.).

iPhone and iPad users updating to the new Facebook 6.2 will be able to add icons to status updates to show their current state of mind, or what activity they’re engaged in.

“Add icons to status updates to show what you're feeling, reading, watching and more (English only),” reads the changelog.

Additional features in the new Facebook 6.2 include the ability to change who can see something you've shared, an option to start a new conversation with photos you receive in messages, and bug fixes.

Facebook continues to work with all iOS 5 devices.
