The popular ClamXav antivirus app has been updated exclusively for the Mac, raising the bar in the requirements sector, but also adding new features and enhancements.

ClamXav’s minimum requirements are now OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and an Intel processor. OS X 10.7 (Lion), OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and even OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) are supported.

The ClamAV engine has been updated to version 0.98 for 32/64 bit tasks, and ClamXav and Sentry are now 32/64 bit. ClamXav uses Notification Center on OS X 10.8 and OS X 10.9 (Sentry has yet to follow in its footsteps).

Exclude and Sentry preference panels now offer the option to select-all/copy, and logs of scheduled scans now get timestamps. The app’s Italian translation has been updated, and the folder name for Czech localization has been changed to work under OS X 10.8 and later.

Fixed bugs include: ClamXav always reported "defs updated;" ClamXav would warn about a quarantine folder unnecessarily; wrong positioning of OK/Cancel buttons in Preferences (French).
