14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has released a new version of the Apple TV software for 2nd and 3rd generation set-top box owners.
Applying to both of Apple’s black boxes, including the new one with 1080p capabilities, Apple TV 5.0.1 build 9B206f delivers enhancements to iTunes previews, AirPlay, Home Sharing, Netflix, as well as stability improvements.
Previews for movies and TV shows from the iTunes Store can now be viewed in HD, Apple says, while AirPlay will no longer cause iOS apps to have trouble connecting to the set-top box.
Home Sharing is improved as well, and Netflix login and navigation has been fixed. Last, but not least, the change log mentions “fixes for issues affecting stability and performance.”
