Adobe has released an updated version of its Illustrator software for Mac OS X and Windows computers, adding numerous improvements and a couple of new features.

A companion application to Adobe's Photoshop software that helps users create and design vector-based graphics, Illustrator CC 17.1.0 comes with new Live Corners controls, which makes it easier to create “perfect, editable, rounded corners.”

Adobe promises a more intuitive drawing experience thanks to a “rebuilt” Pencil Tool, and offers users the ability to modify existing objects much faster and “change the view of perspective drawings with Path Segment Reshape and export responsive SVG code and graphics.”

Windows users exclusively have a much broader list of changes and improvements to review, so I encourage them to visit the release notes.

The requirements remain unchanged: 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM (8GB recommended), and 2GB of available hard-disk space, with additional free space being required during installation.

On the Mac, you’ll need at least OS X 10.6.8 to run the app, while PC users will require a 64-bit version of Windows 7.
