CodeWeavers’ Wine graphical frontend, CrossOver 13.1.3, is now officially available for download on Mac OS X and Linux for users eager to run Windows software on their “unsupported” computers.

The latest version adds support for Blizzard's Battle.net desktop application, addresses a bug in CrossOver's self-update logic on OS X computers, and for Linux customers it fixes an incompatibility between the version of libxcb shipped with CrossOver and Ubuntu 14.04.

Some enhancements have been made to the Russian and Romanian language translation packs.

Initially released in November 2013, CrossOver 13 also offers improved support for Quicken 2014, fixes for various rendering bugs, fixes for Adobe Reader XI, and more. The tab key should now switch focus from one field to the next.

“CrossOver 13 has our new Performance Enhanced Graphics. Games will run faster, with higher frame rates! This is a major overhaul of the 3D graphics processing in CrossOver, and gives significant improvements in many, many popular games,” says CodeWeavers.

On Macintosh computers in particular, Input Managers no longer causes Windows applications to crash. System requirements include an Intel processor and about 200MB of free disk space. Those interested in testing the software before buying can download the 14-day free trial and have a go at it.
