DiskMaker X, the powerful freeware utility that lets you create bootable OS X drives, has received some improvements and fixes, along with new localizations.

Available as a free download for any Intel-based Mac running OS X 10.7 Lion, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, or OS X 10.9 Mavericks, DiskMaker X 3.0.4 includes a number of fixes, one of which is for error -10006, “which happens at the end of the process (it seemed to touch especially non-English or non-French users),” according to the release notes.

More localizations are available now, including for Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese.

You’ll need an 8GB+ writable DVD or USB key to use the app, and you’ll also need to supply an OS X installer too.

According to the developer, “As soon as you launch the application, it tries to find the OS X Install program with Spotlight. Then, it proposes to build a bootable install disk and make it look as nice as possible. It’s the easiest way to build an OS X Installer in a few clicks.” Note that DiskMaker X cannot build a Mavericks installer from Mac OS X 10.6.8.
