Dev teams scrambling to fix bugs, likely this one too

Security expert Stefan Esser (@i0n1c on Twitter) believes there might be something wrong with the upcoming A5 jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 devices. According to his tests, the jailbreak seems to be affecting Siri, the personal assistant exclusive to the iPhone 4S.

A tweet signed Stefan Esser yesterday said: “Anyone seen any jailbreak detection in Siri? Siri stopped working after a day of running with jailbroken kernel on the iPhone 4S …”

Since Esser knows his way around Apple’s iOS, the discovery has serious implications. However, the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev are working hard to iron out all the bugs in their upcoming A5 jailbreak, and the Siri crash is likely one of them.
