Apple raised concerns this week when it announced the hiring of a certain John Browett to run its retail operations. Tim Cook answered an Apple fan’s email touting the man as the best in his field.

Browett is said to be responsible for a lackluster customer experience, having left behind “the worst of Best Buy and Radio Shack combined”. He was CEO of Dixons before Apple snagged him.

A MacRumors reader decided to email Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, to ask what was their reasoning behind Browett’s hiring. Cook responded saying, “Tony, I talked to many people and John was the best by far. I think you will be as pleased as I am. His role isn’t to bring Dixons to Apple, [it's] to bring Apple to an even higher level of customer service and satisfaction.”
