Jonathan Mak, the guy whose minimalistic Steve Jobs tribute circled the globe following the Apple co-founder's death in October, has nabbed a job at the Internationally-known beverage maker, Coca-Cola. Mak has already designed the posters for Coca-Cola’s newest campaign - “share a Coke”.

Mak said in an interview with Creativity Online, “I think the way I approached the poster is quite similar to the Steve Jobs Apple logo. These kinds of images are quite appropriate in advertising. It takes a second to get it and then there’s an ‘aha’ moment.”

Indeed, it takes the viewer a second or two before he / she notices the bottle cut out of the white stripes that symbolize Coca-Cola’s flagship logo as two hands stretching out to one another.

Mak is currently studying at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and regards his job with Coca-Cola as a “happy accident.” Asked what’s the next step in his career, the modest Mak replied “I just want to do good work that can affect people the way the Steve Jobs-Apple logo did.”
