In tandem with the launch of Hider 2 in the Mac App Store, MacPaw today deployed a fresh update for existing users of CleanMyMac 2, the company’s all-in one maintenance utility for Macintosh computers.

The Ukrainian studio has updated DevMate Feedback Reporter with screenshot attachment functionality, and performed some code corrections so that items removed via Secure Erase don’t get logged anymore. The CleanMyMac Safety Database has been updated and improved.

Some bug fixes are mentioned in the release notes, including one for the inability to obtain root privileges for a complete cleanup session, and another for wrong country flags in Languages Cleanup.

Some minor UI tweaks are also included, and several localization improvements are made to ensure that nothing gets lost in translations. All known crashes are fixed, says MacPaw.

CleanMyMac gets constant updates from its creators, ensuring that things run smoothly with the software, despite some occasional complaints from non-savvy users. While many of the tasks performed by CleanMyMac can also be done by hand, the utility provides a comprehensive interface for some complex maintenance tasks that many users (including myself) appreciate.

Interested parties can download CleanMyMac on any Mac with OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks installed. A demo version is available which cleans 500MB of clutter.
