MacPaw Inc. is out with a new version of its popular cleaning utility for Mac users, adding a number of fixes and improvements, including better scanning for Universal Binaries.

CleanMyMac 2.2.1 improves the Ignore List functionality as well as the app’s Universal Binaries scanning performance. Universal Binaries support both PPC and Intel processors, and CleanMyMac rids these of their PPC files when run on Intel systems.

Other changes in version 2.2.1 include some small aesthetic tweaks, an updated DevMate Problem Reporter, and bug fixes for incorrect sizes of cleaned items for iPhoto Cleanup, file duplication in Large & Old Files, removal of Dock icons upon uninstallation, and various crashes.

Download CleanMyMac 2.2.1 for any Mac running OS X 10.7 Lion or newer. The update is free for all existing customers, while a new license costs around €40 ($55).
