Ukrainian development studio MacPaw has released a minor update to add a number of new features to CleanMyMac 2, the company’s second-generation OS X cleaning utility.

CleanMyMac is a powerful system maintenance utility which offers tools for Universal Binaries slimming, application uninstallation, removal of unneeded languages, cleaning logs and caches, quick and secure erasing, etc.

CleanMyMac 2.0.1 adds compatibility with OS X Lion starting with the initial version of the operating system – 10.7.0. However, the developer says “it is still recommended to update your OS to the latest one.”

In other words CleanMyMac 2 works best with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

The updated utility further adds SymLinks support on Drag & Drop, improved localizations and string layouts, new Login Items for Appstore Apps to Extensions module, an improved Feedback Reporter framework, and improved Apps terminating dialog. Minor usability improvements have been added as well.
