“The Call of Duty: Zombies phenomenon has risen back to life,” say the people at Activision who have just released this game in the iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Priced at $6.99 and seemingly available only for the U.S. market at the time of this writing, Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is adapted for the touch-screen Apple platforms from the console hit game that started it all.

The game features all-new maps and weapons, a total of 50 levels in Dead-Ops Arcade, the ability to earn Achievements and Point-Multipliers, and Retina display support.

“As an iOS Universal App, the game operates the same whether played on iPhone, iPod, or iPad, meaning a zombie’s brain will splatter just as vividly on your iPhone 4 Retina Display as on your iPad 2,” says Activision.

The game requires iOS 3.0 or later, according to the iTunes description.
