Creative Edgar Rios designs one of the most stunning mockups ever

Apple’s next Mac OS release may or may not ditch the 10 versioning number at the front (in which case it might end up being called OS XI), but one thing is for sure. It would definitely blow every desktop OS out of the water, should it look like this.

Edgar Rios has created a jaw-dropping concept called “The next Mac OS” which, in his view, is based on iOS 7 with its subtle flat graphics and light color palette.

I’ll be the first to admit iOS 7 isn’t the best thing I’ve looked at from Apple, but somehow combing that vision with the Mac makes for an absolutely stunning visual experience.

I’m particularly taken with the redesigned Finder (including the actual icon Edgar has created for his concept), as well as the Notification/Control Center overlays which retain the transparency effects from iOS 7.
