SVP of Worldwide Marketing title loses reference to ‘products’

Apple management has slightly changed Philip W. Schiller’s title from SVP of Worldwide Product Marketing to SVP of Worldwide Marketing, in what can be regarded as a change in his role within the company.

It equally possible that Schiller’s new title is a matter of semantics, nothing more, TNW argues, but it’s also worth pointing out that the change occurred right after Apple’s retail chief departed.

Could it just be that Schiller is taking up some of Johnson’s duties as the Mac makers are considering new retail leadership? And, if so, what was all that Steve Cano news all about?

It’s also worth mentioning that Schiller is one of the key Apple executives that helps out during keynote presentations. With Steve Jobs gone, the company needs every bit of marketing talent it’s got to continue his legacy.
